ROFL. I've heard a lot of people say, "Punk is an attitude, not a sound". Well I've heard some hip hop groups that have a pretty fuckin punk attitude. Would you guys consider bands in genres, outside of rock, to be punk?

I think punk is energy not attitude so any band that lacks that energy punk has to offer isn't punk to me. So I guess I can't think of any.

I think you have to look at it in two completely different ways just as admin had said punk is energy and energy in music...for most people.
Other people may find punk to mean an attitude against authority. As far as Rap being punk I think that their idea of F- Authority is different than "Punks" Punk preaches anarchy of government for all while Rap preaches the all mighty dollar, with a bit of anarchy thrown in the mix. Does not make Rap punk to me.
