Yesterday I was surfing around to find out that him, Skinhead Rob, & rapper Paul Wall have this hip-hop "project". Curiosity killed the cat, you can't spell rap without crap.

What do you think of the ridiculous crossover?

I don't like it. I kind of enjoyed "The Transplants" even if one of their songs was on a hair product commercials. But come on, why give up punk rock?

O.k. I could see someone from electronica moving to trip hop. Or electronica to dark core or maybe blues to jazz. But how does someone move to a complete opposite like punk to hip hop and still be taken seriously. Not to bitch to much but I hate it when someone adds hip hop with punk in skater games and ruins it because hip hop and punk do not belong with each other. They are just to different of genres to be combined.

I think that black culture is to hip-hop as white culture is to punk rock.

It's a complete different style...but there's some similarities to the content.

Example:
"I just wanna fuck some sluts." Fear- Living in The City.
"I don't go anywhere without my weapon." Switchblade- Lars Fredericksen & The Bastards.
"In the trousers she kissed me & I only bought her one round" DKM

The fashion has kinda taken a lil' bit of a "gangsta" twist. Like bandanas.

Though 3 white guys doing rap together, thats just odd too.

I have heard of hip-hop comparison and also a comparison of hippies and punks. Although I have no song comparisons cause lets face it hippie music sucks. But as I remember the comparison both hippies and punks fight a cause. Either political and sometimes environmental. Also hippies fight for freedom and punks do as well except punks fight for a different freedom at least in my opinion. The peace love and dope thing for hippies is usually replaced by peace, fuck off, and beer or sadly crack instead of pot. Unlike hippie music, punk rock music has lasted a lot longer because lets face it punk rock is just better fucking music than hippie shit.

Well, the guy has never been in a totaly punk band. He was in a pop punk band, then a rap punk band and now he's going to rap. Looks like he's been edging his way to rap with The Transplants. Lets just wait and see him replace his mo-hawk with corn rows. And on that rap is to black as punk is to white thing, I dont realy agree with that too much. Though many black people like rap/hip hop some are into punk. Look at the singer of Love Equals Death. I have to say though, I agree with can't spell crap without rap. Its someone talking fast over computer made music about getting money. Punk fights against things that are wrong in our society, rap makes problems in our society.

well nothing can change the fact that i think hes the greatest drummer out there.... the stuff he could do is crazy. hes up there with neil pert and mike portnoy.

and i have to admit... rap and punk to doesnt go that well together. i thought transplants were annoying and scolded over the fact tim armstrong started the band and was in it. although ive gotta admit the rap in "Red Hot Moon" by rancid was put in pretty well.

and isn't Travis in that new +44 band now?? i have no idea what genre that band is in because ive never heard them yet. ive only seen pics and posters. or maybe thats wut u guys r talking about.....

o ya... and the aquabats are awsome!!
