What happened to XROXX? I am sure that anyone who listens to punk4punks probably doesn't give a shit about xroxx. Especially since they weren't that hardcore and they never updated their song list but seriously what the hell happened to them? I am curious because they were one of the stations that played half ass decent music way back when punk4punks didn't even have a forum or website. If anyone knows or cares just respond to this topic.

Hey, I had no idea what XROXX was so I thought "Hey, they better be better than this stupid radio station!" Just kidding, this radio kicks. Well, I googled that name and saw some small site called XROXX so is this it?

Thanks KitLo. Their site is www.xroxx.com Their website is still up but they are not on shoutcast and the website also says that their stream is down. For anyone who doesn't know who XROXX is they are a station that plays pop and emo punk. They also had a little hard core punk on their station to.

Hey, what's that site then I found then?!?!?! Is it just some rip-off station, or did they just make another site?
What you found was a place called surfmusik which basically takes the stream from shoutcast and hosts it on their website(I think that is how it works but am not sure). We are also on surfmusik and are constantly having people come from surfmusik to our website. In fact I think more people come to our website from surfmusik than from shoutcast. Go figure.

We were trying to do XROXX legally and the fees for ASCAP, BMI and SoundExchange were just too much. We couldn't break even on the CD's and other merch or the donation link (or even come close) so we pulled the plug. It was a hard decision and we hope to be back, but a lot of alternative stations are popping up playing quite a bit of what the XROXX music list was...a handful are even using the "X-Rocks" descriptor which is very weird when you first hear it outside of your computer.
That sucks about your station. I myself probably would not have went to those lengths to make the station legal but kudos to you for doing so. I hope you guys can come back on shoutcast and give us a little competition. I for one cannot see any revenue makers from donation or merchandise setups. We here at punk4punks have sold no merchandise what so ever. Thanks for posting about your station.

I just tried to load xroxx.com and my virus scanner stopped the page from loading because it has a trojan on the main page identified as: VBS:Obfuscated-gen [Trj]
If your curious about what happened... don't try going to the site. heh
