We at punk4punks try playing old punk, new punk, emo punk, hard core punk, and even some pop punk. We are fans to about any kind of punk rock. The elitists who say, only their punk is real punk, miss out on a lot of good punk music. The reason elitists suck is that they put down other people and their music just to assure themselves that, theirs is the only punk rock that is truly punk rock. Punk music should be about freedom from tyranny. In a small way elitists are tyrannical because they try pushing their view on others.

I think all of us fall into the trap that our music is the only music that is good. I guess if someone wants to think that their music is true punk than they are probably limiting themselves, but to tell you the truth, as long as they don't push that view on me, I could give a fuck less. It's those assholes who put you down for listening to pop punk or ska or etc. that piss me off. You have the right to say a certain band sucks but you shouldn't put others down for listening to that band. Not only are you trying to push your view on others, you are also being close minded and an idiot.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaah! The Causities ! Thanks! Oh and, if I make fun of kids that dress call them selfs emo, but are in no way close to being an emo kid, would I be concidered an Elitist? Becuase I'm not making fun of emo music, I acualy like some, I would be making fun of them for thinking their somthing that they're not. But then again, if I do make fun of them, almost everyone arround here is a poser-emo kid, so they might not like that.....

I actually had kind of a reverse experience where instead of kids putting themselves off as emo punks, I had friends who were poser hardcore punks. I have no idea why someone would dress as a emo punk besides maybe to fit in but I really don't care how they dress, as long as they don't start shit with me because I don't dress emo, I could care less.

Is emo taking over punk?!?!?
I still believe that putting down others for listening to a certain type of music or dressing a certain way is wrong. Mostly because you are limiting the freedom to pursue happiness. Even if your not in America this should be a basic human right to pursue happiness. Now that I have said that I recently purchased the warp tour 2005 comp discs and almost all of it was emo or screamo. I was pissed to say the least and anyone thinking of buying warp tour 2005 discs should seriously reconsider if you don't like emo or screamo. I also heard punk o rama 10 was just as bad but have not listened to it yet. I have come to the conclusion that emo is either overly formulaic or just plain crap. I have heard an occasinal good song from the genre but most of its crap. I would like to hear what others have got to say about emo. Is emo taking over punk? I hope not because I refuse to listen to that crap. I thought pop punk was getting bad but pop punk is a thousand times better than emo. I rather listen to older green day than listen to whiny singers singing how bad life is.

Suprisingly enough warp tour 2005 comp had at least 6 good songs out of 50. But this is usually not the case with warp tour comps or punk o rama comps. Usually almost all the songs on warp tour comps and punk o rama comps are good. That is why I was so pissed when I heard warp tour shifted towards emo/screamo. Usually punk o ramas comp discs have mostly good songs but who knows it could be going the way of warp tour. I recently purchased rock against bush vol 1 and 2 and I would definitly recommend it for anyone who loves political punk.

Yeah, I have the first Rock Against Bush, and it's awsome. But the real question is, why are we still talking about this on "Elitists Suck!"???? But what ever. Warp Tour is way too main streem. That's why there is so much emo on it.
